Hidden Himalayas Trek
The hidden gems of Himalaya indeed include the parts of North Sikkim. One such distinct precious stone from the treasure chest of Sikkim is the valley of Tholung. Situated below Mt. Siniolchu (6888m) and Mt. Lamo Anden (5200m) is a land that the Lepcha and the Bhutia Tribes call their home. Undoubtedly scenic, Tholung is the habitat for merely 50 lamas, yak herdsmen and small-scale farmers. In our Hidden Himalaya Trek, our endeavour would be to explore this lovely valley with some of the most hospitable people. This land of mixed forest and an amazing diversity of birds and plants allow a trekking expedition that will be unlike any other. Commencing from the beautiful Dzongu village, the trek takes one through lush forests along the River Ringpi Chu and up to Tholung monastery which is surrounded by 108 waterfalls that cascade down from high mountain slope above it. The trekking trail is adorned with th magnolia- and rhododendron trees and the encounter with yak herdsmens and crystal-clear alpine lakes are frequent. During this trek, one has opportunity to enjoy the simple lifestyle of Lepchas and Bhutia tribes as we include homestays to enhance the experience. The Hidden Himalaya Trek is a great way to explore the beauty of North Sikkim as well as to attain the insights of beautiful life of its people.
